Built around the way your teams actually work: May product updates and what's next


For supervisors managing field teams, the small frictions add up. A team leader goes on leave and their notifications need to follow them or, more often, not follow them. A key piece of user information is buried two taps deep when it should be glanceable. A worker out in the field needs to reach a supervisor but isn't sure who's actually covering today.
May's new feature releases focused on those small frictions. We're rolling out improvements that make team coverage transitions seamless, give admins more control over what information stays visible during tracking, and in one of our biggest steps for satellite safety, bring Garmin inReach communication directly into the GetHomeSafe app.
Web portal: smarter team coverage and more flexible activity details
Setting Inheritance for Team Replacements
Our Team Replacements feature allows admins to schedule or initiate any user to replace a Team Leader, either for a set time or indefinitely.
A new toggle has been added to the Team Replacements configuration that allows the replacing user to temporarily inherit the replaced Team Leader's current notification settings upon replacement. In practice, this means the replacing user will copy the settings of the TL they are replacing for the duration of the cover.
The toggle is enabled by default.
Activity Pinned Details — now supporting Custom User Fields
Activity Pinned Details allow Account Admins to select certain fields to be pinned to the activity status card during active tracking. These fields sit directly under the activity timer for quick visibility, so supervisors don't have to expand or scroll to find the information that matters most.
With this release, pinned detail support has been extended to configured Custom User Fields, giving admins more flexibility in what information stays visible during tracking (Web portal only).

App version 4.31.0
The next app release introduces two significant additions.
A new 'Supervisors' tab in active tracking
A new Supervisors tab is being added to active tracking, allowing users to see and contact their relevant Team Leaders directly from within the app.
Garmin inReach integration [Beta]
The next release also features our Garmin integration development for direct inReach connection, providing users a familiar way to interface with their inReach devices, solely through the GetHomeSafe app.
What's included in the Beta:
- GPS messages can now be initiated from the app.
- A new messenger system holds the command history, giving users a clear record of messages sent.

A look at two features currently in development:
Selectable Teams field
Users who are part of multiple teams will be able to select which teams are associated with their activity. This allows them to more finely control which Team Leaders will be alerted during their activity's tracking session.
Mass Messaging UI overhaul with scheduled sends
We're looking at overhauling our Mass Messaging UI and adding support for scheduling sends for drafted mass messages.
