Enhancing Performance

At GetHomeSafe, our product team has been focused on refining and optimising our solutions to better serve customers working in remote and wilderness areas. By incorporating valuable customer feedback and collaborating with key partners, we've made significant strides in improving system performance. Users will notice enhanced responsiveness and faster load times across the platform.

Improved Battery Performance for the Mobile App

With version 4.23, we introduced a new battery optimization setting, bringing the total to three options. The new default setting offers an ideal balance between GPS accuracy, server syncing, and battery efficiency. Initial results indicate a substantial improvement in battery life, with further refinements in progress to maximize performance.

 

 

Enhancements for Remote, Isolated, and Wilderness Workers

  • Multi-Day Safety Monitoring (Beta): We are currently testing a new experience designed to improve safety monitoring for extended field operations.
  • Improved Integrations: Continued enhancements for Tait Radio, Zoleo, and TrackMe to ensure seamless safety monitoring.
  • Manual Location Setting for Radio Check-ins: Field workers using analog radios can now manually set their location when checking in.
  • Mass Messaging Capabilities: Users can now send messages across multiple channels, including SMS, email, push notifications, digital radio, and satellite messaging.
  • Starlink Integration (Beta): Testing direct-to-cellphone SMS messaging via Starlink to improve communication in remote areas.

 

Phasing Out VArlt Wearable Duress Button

After seven years, we are officially retiring the VArlt and VBttn wearable duress button:

  • End of New Orders: As of July 1, 2025, no new orders will be fulfilled.
  • Ongoing Support: Software support and warranty replacements will continue until July 1, 2026.
  • Recommended Alternative: Customers seeking a reliable wearable duress device can switch to the Flic2, which has received outstanding reviews from those who have made the transition.
