GetHomeSafe revolutionises remote worker safety with OneNZ satellite integration

Since 2018, GetHomeSafe has been dedicated to providing robust safety solutions for teams working in remote and wilderness areas. We've achieved this by integrating with satellite-connected messaging and tracking devices like Garmin inReach, Spot, and Zoleo.

Our customers have consistently relied on these solutions to check in, communicate changes in plans, share their real-time location, and call for help in critical situations – all seamlessly integrated into the GetHomeSafe experience. While these devices have provided vital safety coverage in the most isolated environments, they often presented limitations. Using the devices independently meant sacrificing the rich features of our app, and combining two devices for a single activity often resulted in an inefficient process. Furthermore, the need for specialized hardware and associated data plans added to the cost.

We're thrilled to announce a groundbreaking collaboration that addresses these challenges head-on.

GetHomeSafe is now beta testing an integration of our mobile app with OneNZ's world-first satellite texting service, powered by Starlink's Direct to Cell technology.

This revolutionary advancement will empower GetHomeSafe users to relay critical safety messages and their location directly from within our app, via satellite text, and straight into our platform, keeping their supervisors up to date. This means supervisors and emergency contacts will remain consistently updated, regardless of cellular coverage, using their everyday smartphone.

Mass messaging, and emergency roll calls

This integration brings immense value, especially with our recently developed mass messaging and emergency roll call feature. Imagine the capability to instantly send vital alerts or conduct a rapid roll call across your entire team, even when land-based networks are compromised by an emergency. This satellite-enabled communication provides significant coverage during times of crisis, ensuring that critical safety messages and check-ins can still reach their intended recipients, drastically enhancing response capabilities and overall safety resilience.
